Bounce Animation is a Canadian film, TV, and video animation production company founded by James Clayton in 1998 to continue co-producing Greeny Phatom after Owl Communications went bankrupt. On December 7, 2015, Stainton Enterprises announced to acquire 45% of the company, while 55% is owned by Erika Clayton.

It is currently owned by Clearwater Partners II LLC.

James died on December 29th, 2014, in Hollywood, California, United States, after a car accident. He was 65 years old. James and Little Girl's voice actor Georgia Denney, were passengers in a taxi traveling on a road between Little Saigon and Los Angeles. They were returning late at night from a night on the town when the taxi driver lost control. The taxi swerved violently across the road before hitting the roadside rock face and flipping several times before hitting the safety rail and plunging over the bank.

On June 25, 2018, following the controversy surrounding sexual harassment allegations against James Clayton, it was announced Bounce Animation would be reorganized as a limited partnership under the business name of Bounce Asset Partners I, L.P., owned by Erika Clayton in association with the Rotana Group and about 65 different GPs.

In exchange of funding, Clearwater Animation acquired stakes in the company formerly owned by the general partnerships. Erika Clayton became one of the chairmen in Clearwater Partners II LLC, and thus Clearwater Animation completed acquisition of Bounce Asset Partners I, L.P.

Since Bounce Animation became a successful animation company, James and Erika Clayton decided to create a Canadian 3D animation, marketing, visual effects and branding company known as Bounce+, a subsidiary of Bounce Animation.
